Reflect Your Brand through Your Fence

Hi, my name is Laura. Over the years, I worked with several companies as a brand consultant. At the same time, I was living in a flat with my brother who installed fences. In the evening, when we talked over our days, it was odd how much our industries overlapped. I wanted to do some extra writing so I decided to start this blog about that overlap. If you are putting a fence around your business or even your home, you want it to reflect your essence: your brand. This blog, crafted through my experience and research, shows you how to do that. Please explore and enjoy learning about fences!

Why Use Star Pickets on Your Chain Wire Fences?

If you want to install chain wire fencing, then you need to choose the right posts to support the wires. Star picket posts are a good all-around option. These pointed metal posts have three distinct sides and have holes or connectors along their length.

What are the benefits of using star pickets when you build your fences?

Get Easy Installation

Some fence posts take time to install. For example, if you need to put concrete posts in place, then you have to dig holes, add your concrete and then stabilise the posts in the mix while the concrete sets.

If you don't get the right concrete mix, then your posts won't necessarily be stable enough to hold up your fencing. If a post gets damaged down the line, then you'll have to take it out, remove the concrete and start the process again.

If you use star pickets, then your installation is faster and simpler. These slim posts have pointed ends. With this option, you simply hammer them into the ground to the desired depth. If a post were to come loose, you simply hammer it back into place. Or, if you prefer, you can buy pickets with plates at the bottom. Here you simply screw the plates into the ground to secure the posts.

In either case, you can build your fences faster and your posts will be strong and stable.

Get a Secure Wire Hold

Some fence posts don't hold on to chain wire that well. If you wrap wires around a smooth post, then the wires might move up or down if they aren't secure or get damaged. Alternatively, if you nail wires to posts, then the wires might work loose over time, especially if the nails rust or come loose.

If your wires aren't evenly spaced or firmly held up, then your fencing can't do its job. Sagging or loose wires don't give you any protection. If this problem occurs, your fences become breachable barriers.

Star pickets give you more stability in your build. Each of these posts has a line of holes running down it. You thread wires through or around the holes as you install your fences. The wires are then fixed in place. They can't slide up or down a post and they can't move outside of their holes. So, they stay where you put them, giving you maximum fencing protection.
